Grandma, it's Lesli! What are you doing?
Lesli! How good to hear your voice! Well, I'm just getting ready to walk down the street and get a Coke from the Coke machine, but I'd much rather talk to you. How are Arden and little Tessie?
Arden's great! I dropped her off at school today with Tess in tow this time! What a workout to carry her into Arden's school! I'm not used to that now that Mom's gone. She really spoiled me!
Well, I know your mother enjoyed her stay with you so much, and I know you were so happy to have her there.
Silence because I'm crying
I remember when your mother had you and was so upset when she had to go to work in the morning. I would walk to the trailer and take care of you for her. It takes a while to adjust to being a mother, but you'll be fine. Just think, you're a pro now! Look how lovely Arden turned out.
I know, Grandma. I miss you. You always make me feel better. I wish you could see Arden and Tess. You would laugh at Arden and all the funny things she does. She has such a sense of humor just like you.
Lesli, I do see her! All the time! She's just precious. And little Tessie will be the same, but in her own way. It just takes time and patience.
Grandma, will you help me with my patience and sanity? I used to call on your spirit when I was down and out with Arden. Somehow, it always calmed me. I felt a strong connection to you when Arden was a baby because you knew I was pregnant before you died, and she's named after you. I want to have that same feeling with Tess.
Lesli, I will never leave you. Call me anytime you want to talk. I'm around. You just have to think of me.
